60,000 photos captured at Dubai Festival City’s Laser Tunnel

Installation showcasing new global attraction IMAGINE is an instant hit with visitors – increasing dwell-time and consumer engagement

Dubai, UAE, 18January2017:Dubai Festival City (DFC), an Al-Futtaim group development,demonstrates its leadership in consumer on-ground engagement, by installing a bespoke Laser Tunnel at the Festival Square area of Dubai Festival City Mall. As part of a number of innovative experiences created specifically for the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF2017), the 20-metre tunnel takes shoppers and mall-goers through a kaleidoscope of colour and sound, allowing them to get a taster of therecently launchedGuinness World record breaking global attraction – IMAGINE.

Customers can have their photo taken inside the tunnel and upload it live onto Facebook to share the experience with their family and friends. The free experience which has already seen more than 61,600 mall-goers take part- an average of 1600 people per day, and the video created to support the activity has already received 589,000 views on Facebook.

According to Steven Cleaver, Director – Shopping Centres at Al Futtaim Real Estate, “The installation is a bespoke experience created specifically to drive awareness of our new attraction IMAGINE, as well as create a tangible immersive experience that will ultimately increase dwell time in the mall and enhance consumer engagement throughout Dubai Shopping Festival.”

“The tunnel is a stand-alone experience that takes visitors through a journey of colours, sounds and lights to get a sense of wonder and awe, and to set the tone for what is to come at the real show.”

Launched on the opening day of DSF 2017 and housedat the destination’s new outdoor area Festival Bay, IMAGINE features the latest entertainment technology in water, pyrotechnics, lasers, lights and dramatic effects at a 360 degree view– to produce a show like never seen before. The world-class sensory entertainment show will be a permanent fixture at Festival Bay, with daily shows, and will continue to evolve over the next 12-months to include even more never-seen-before features and performances.
