Former Olympic swimmer hosts Speedo swim workshop at Jumeirah’s Talise Fitness

Members of Dubai’s media got a taste of what it takes to become a world-class swimmer, when ex-Olympic swimmer and international Speedo brand ambassador, Stephanie Proud held an informal swim workshop today at Talise Fitness, Madinat Jumeirah.
Proud gave media instructions on stroke improvement before racing individuals in a fun relay to give them an idea of what it’s like to swim at an Olympic pace.
She said: “It’s great to be in Dubai on behalf of Speedo. Ultimately people of all ages and abilities can swim and swim well, and Speedo, as a brand, supports people with equipment and expertise to do just that.”
Proud is in Dubai on Speedo’s behalf to attend one of the biggest swimming events of the year, the final of the eight-part Fina/Airweave World Swimming World Championships 2015, which will take place at Hamdan Sports Complex on November 6th and 7th.
This is the first time Dubai has hosted the final, which will see the top male and female overall winners take home prize money of 100,000 USD each. Some of the biggest names in swimming will attend including UK backstroke champion, Missy Franklin and Jamaican breaststroke Olympian, Alia Atkinson.
Speedo is the Exclusive Swimwear and Swim Equipment Supplier to the FINA Swimming World Cup (SWC) series until 2019.
