CROWDS FLOCK TO FERRARI DISPLAY AT CITY WALK

Exciting precursor to Dubai Motor Festival from 10-21 Nov

Hundreds of people today (Saturday) gathered in Dubai to experience the most stunning collection of Ferrari supercars ever displayed in the Middle East. Owners of the Italian cars lined the road at City Walk to celebrate the upcoming Dubai Motor Festival.

The event, hosted in association with the City Walk developer Meraas, and in conjunction with the Ferrari Owners Club UAE, attracted thousands of visitors. The gathering was a forerunner to the formal launch of DMF 2015, and was supported by ARGO TEA.

Dubai Motor Festival Director, Jin Chwen Ong said: “The Ferrari gathering provided the perfect precursor to the excitement that lies ahead in the 3rd edition of Dubai Motor Festival including the Dubai Grand Parade, Marques D’Elegance and Best Decorated National Day car competition.  Events like this form the basis of our offerings to fans and are aimed at encouraging everyone with a passion for motoring to be a part of our citywide celebrations. The support of both participants and our partners were crucial to the success of the Ferrari event, especially that of Meraas and the Ferrari Owners Club UAE.”

A huge number of residents and tourists posed for pictures with the cars. 12-year old Valentine from France was spotted posing with the Ferraris along with her 8-year old sister Gwendoline and their friend, 11-year old Maxine. “We came to City Walk with our parents just for this Ferrari show. We love these cars and they look even more beautiful parked all in a row. This is something that we will not forget”.

Fethi, also from France, had brought his family to City Walk after hearing about the  Ferrari gathering.  His children, 7-year old Feriel and her 6-year brother, Haroun were busy taking photographs with their tablet.

“This is a magnificent spectacle. My son loves the Ferrari, so we just could not afford to miss this gathering, said Fethi, and added in lighter vein: “Today Haroun and Feriel are on a mission, as reporters. They are supposed to take some good photos and report back to us on what they saw”.

Jude Melli is an ardent Ferrari fan, and not surprisingly so, as his father owns one of them.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our car and also have a good look at all the other models on show. We are excited to participate in this Dubai Motor Festival event. It’s really a great feeling to be out here with the Ferraris,” said Jude, a Syrian national.

Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), the 3rdedition of DMF will be held from 10 – 21 November under the patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The one-of-a-kind DMF 2015 will further cement Dubai’s position as a hub for world-class events and festivals. The citywide celebration of motoring passion is set to enthrall families and tourists from around the world with unique motoring experiences created around its 2015 tagline  ‘Feel The Rush’.
