Local Heritage Celebrated with ‘Open Air’ Theatre Tour of the Emirates as part of Rainbow Milk’s 60th anniversary
Dubai, UAE, December 2015: The Rainbow Theatre, an open airpop up experience which is set to tour the Emirates throughout December and January, debuted this week at the traditional Barjeel Heritage Guest House in Shindagha, Deira.
The theatrical production, which is being hosted by Rainbow Milk as part of its ongoing 60th anniversary celebrations, brings to life the rich history and cultural heritage of Dubai through the eyes of an Emirati grandfather who has witnessed the transformation of a proud nation.
The performance follows the evolution of Dubai from its birth as a fishing village in the early 18th century, to the establishment of the first modern sea port in Dubai in 1955 and then through its more recent transformation into the world-renowned metropolis it has become today.
Hein Raijmakers, Regional Marketing Director for Rainbow Milk said: “As one of the first brands to come to the Arab world, Rainbow Milk has witnessed the UAE’s journey of progress over six amazing decades. We wanted to give something back to the local community as part of our own 60th anniversary celebrations and what better way than by telling the story of Dubai through traditional Emirati theatre.”
In addition to the pop-up theatre, guests will be able toimmerse themselves in old and new Dubai through a futuristic 3D experience, which provides a virtual depiction of the Emirate. They can also visit the calligraphy station and have their names written in traditional Arabic calligraphy as a lovely keepsake.
Rainbow Theatre is a recent addition to the 60th Anniversary celebrations for Rainbow Milk, which was recently recognized as a prestigious Super brand in the UAE and will be on tour at the following locations: Global Village on 24th, 25th, 31st December and 1st January from 6.30pm to 11.30pm, Umm Suqeim Park on 7th and 8th January from 5.30pm to 10.30pm and Zabeel Park on 14th and 15th January from 5.30pm to 10.30pm.
