Mr. Mohamed Al Hashemi, CEO of Union Coop, emphasized the significance of “Union Pledge Day,” a national occasion recently declared by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to be celebrated annually on July 18th. This day holds profound importance as a national event that embodies the values of national unity, expressing love for a proud nation, wise leadership, solidarity, and fraternity among the people of the Emirates.

Al Hashemi highlighted that commemorating this national occasion each year reminds of the visionary founders who charted the course for the United Arab Emirates under its wise leadership, guiding its transformative journey towards progress and excellence across various fields and sectors. He pointed out that “Union Pledge Day” symbolizes a renewal of loyalty and commitment to advancing towards a future brimming with success, progress, and distinction.

He continued by quoting the UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May Allah Rest His Soul), who famously said in lines of, ” Our people should never forget their past and their ancestors, how they lived and what they relied upon in their lives. The more people are aware of their past and heritage, the more they become interested in their country and more prepared to defend it.” Al Hashemi noted that Union Coop has proudly carried the name “Union” for over 42 years, reflecting its steadfast dedication to the values of unity and national pride.
